Born in Geneva, Swiss-Italian pianist Fabrizio Chiovetta is a musician of exceptional artistry and versatility.

A former student of Elisabeth Athanassova, Dominique Weber, John Perry, and the legendary Paul Badura-Skoda—who later counted him among his closest disciples—Chiovetta has forged a distinctive path as both a soloist and chamber musician.

He performs regularly across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, and has appeared at prestigious venues and festivals including the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Princeton Piano Festival, Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts, the Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Lisztomanias, and Schloss Elmau. He has collaborated with conductors such as Gábor Takács-Nagy, Jean-Pascal Hamelin, Arie van Beek, and Diego Matheuz.

An acclaimed chamber musician, Chiovetta shares the stage with leading artists including Gautier Capuçon, the Belcea Quartet, Lise Berthaud, Marc Coppey, Henri Demarquette, Camille Thomas, Pierre Fouchenneret, Sarah Nemtanu, Patrick Messina, Benjamin Appl, Samuel Hasselhorn, and Werner Güra. His improvisational talents also lead him into cross-genre collaborations with musicians from diverse backgrounds.

His discography, released on Palexa, Claves Records, and Aparté, has earned international acclaim. His recordings have been recognized as Editor’s Choice by Gramophone, and have received top honors from Diapason, Fono Forum, and Classica. The American Record Guide wrote: “After Chiovetta’s release, it would be difficult not to be disappointed by any other Bach piano recording.” Renowned critic Jed Distler has praised his interpretation of Schumann’s Fantasy in C, calling it a new benchmark.

Fabrizio Chiovetta is currently a piano professor at the Geneva University of Music (Haute école de musique de Genève).
